This unit is supplied with an EPROM which needs to be fitted within the BBC Microcomputer. Instructions for fitting this component are included in the User Guide.
The BBC Microcomputer must also be fitted with an operating system ROM issue 1.0 or above. To find out what issue of operating system (OS) is currently in your BBC Microcomputer, type *FX0 then press the RETURN key. The display will indicate the operating system issue number eg 0.1, 1.0 or 1.2. If the issue number is less than 1.0, then you will need a new OS ROM.
If you feel unsure of your ability to fit the EPROM yourself, an authorised Acorn Service Centre will fit it free of charge on presentation of this voucher, and provide and fit the correct issue OS ROM if necessary. The microcomputer must be taken or sent to the Service Centre for the work to be carried out.
