Introduction and Overview

Finger is used to request information about a remote user or system using the Finger protocol.

Syntax

*Finger [-help] [-long | -short] [<user>@<host> | <host>]

Parameters

-help	-	Display help on the command
-short	-	Display short information about the user
-long	-	Display long information about the user

Use

Finger is used to request information about a user on a remote machine through the use of the Finger protocol.
